  • Work begins on Local Action Plans to identify community priorities and build on existing work.
  • Frog Hollow pocket park (Surry Hills) completed with major work started on Sydney Park, Prince Alfred Park pool and sports facilities were redesigned, Glebe Foreshores extended and landscaped and numerous local parks upgraded.
  • Child Care Centres Development Control Plan adopted with requirements for large new developments to include them. This was in welcome response to the increasing number of families residing in our city.
  • Darlinghurst Road revitalised with footpath widening, new pavements, lighting, street furniture and street trees.
